Course description:

The core concept centres around the idea of emergence in non-human communication between interactive artworks. We will explore this possibility in the context of interactive art.
The workshop aims to bring people together to brainstorm ideas for interactive works, create them, and place them in a singular space so the artworks can interact with each other and form unexpected and unplanned connections. Through the use of microphones, cameras, motion sensors, motors, programming, networks perhaps the works/objects/installations can form feedback loops and also break them to create unforeseen relationships.
A person who can help with the technical questions (programming, soldering) will join in so everyone who has ideas can participate regardless of how much experience they have with soldering and coding.
The space that we will use is called the “Šachmatinė salė” (checkered hall). It is not a white cube, but quite a liminal space that has a striking pattern and no clear purpose.
