This course looks at the basics of virtual reality and the development within the field of VR and interactivity. Students learn how to start a project with VR programing and explore the artistic use of the platform. Students are introduced to diverse methods which they can use to develop their abilities in the field further.

Other:

After being introduced to the program Unity students will make a proposal or sketch of a VR-artwork.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students should:

  • Have enhanced their understanding of the relationship between art making and specialized field knowledge and technical skills with regards to virtual reality,
  • Have an understanding of the influence different presentation forms have on the content of art works,
  • Be able to employ the fitting methods and technology in the making of their work.

Assessment: Attendance, participation and completion of assignments
