Course description (due to a high demand this is a repeated course)
It is a workshop on thinking. We will be thinking. With a focus not so much on what but how. Re-thinking Deleuze’s cinematic thinking on Truth, Time and the Falsifier. Attempting simultaneous or permanent thinking instead of successive. Also, intensive rather than extensive. We will practice mastering a concept with the right percepts, leading to meaningful affects. Also, we will contemplate degrees of power spread along the chromatic scale. And decide if abolishing organic description in the name of the crystal one and submitting the true to the power of false and raising the latter to its highest degree of power will give us back the truth. And is it still as liberating as it was in the 80’s? Discussing the shift of the concept of truth from something which pre-exists and must be discovered into something to be created or constituted. Asking ourselves if the Deleuzean project somehow fits into the classical thought topology of absolute poles, stacking the planes of thought on a linear scale, (zero to maximum degree) and rendering anything less than a maximum false—false of a lower power, or a worse-performing false—as inferior. In other words, placing moderate or mediocre false lower than the highest degree or genius of false, thus following the value-scale of crystalline purity and at the same time, performing a flip of the common values. Will it empower us, creators, while spinning the carousel of the “erased object and the imaginary, the created (by description) object” faster and faster, running them behind one another into an indiscernible flow, and thus unleashing the highest degree of the power of false and therefore rescuing the truth from the claws of the “truthful man”? And anyway, who is this truthful man of today, and what sort of truth emerges from the bosom of the power of false? Will it offer us a framework for the multiplicity of fragments operating as One, or is multiplicity itself already a sufficient oneness (organs with no need for a body)? Last but not least, we will touch upon the theme of Fall. It is in the air… Would Hamletian utter— “The time is out of joint” —lamenting the loss of circularity and an onslaught of the linear, very well meaning a promethean linearity of flight or of free fall?

Financial Support by KUNO:
Travel support between countries: 330 € (except 660 € to/from Iceland)
Subsistence: 250 € -1st week (5-7 days).
Eligibility:
- only BA and MA full-degree students from the KUNO network schools can participate;
-exchange students from other institutions, which do not belong to the KUNO network, studying at one of the KUNO network schools, CANNOT participate;
- full-degree students from the KUNO network schools, currently on exchange at another institution, CANNOT participate (neither with nor without the KUNO grant).
